WHO WE ARE

The women of the SALT consortium came together in 2021 with the dream of creating a work that looked at the complicated legacies we carry – in our family, identity, geography, and aspirations – through many nuanced lenses. 

All reflect aspects of ourselves that we carry each day, some of which our students of the next generation pick up on their own journeys. Many of these voices have been historically dismissed; at the same time, many enjoyed great privileges and the expense of others. We hope to offer these legacies for all they are, shining light on stories that don't often make it to the role of "leading lady" while reflecting on the mantels we bear in our own identities.
